In our morning service the whole church family gathers to worship our Lord in ways which He has prescribed in Scripture. We pray and sing Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with both reverence and exuberance. We usually incorporate one of the historic Christian creeds as a confession of our faith, and we sometimes recite the Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer, responsive readings from the Psalms, or portions of the Westminster Confession of Faith or Catechisms.
The reading and preaching of the Word of God is central to our worship because in it God speaks to His people and conforms us to the image of Christ. Sermons at Lake Sherwood are either expository or doctrinal. In every case, great attention is given to preparation so that the words of God are understood in their proper context and biblical theological richness, always aiming to proclaim the Lord Jesus Christ and apply His truths to our lives.
The Lord’s Supper is provided to God’s people usually the first Sunday of every month, alternating between morning and evening services.
As is the case for all of our services, a nursery is provided for infants through three year olds.
